Nottingham Treatment Centre

Following surgery I raised a concern about a torn stitch on my Mohs incision. I was asked to send photographs and assured that everything was fine. It wasn't. My incision started to open up and I was concerned about the impact on scarring. I raised concerns again a couple of weeks later and was advised all was healing normally. It isn't. I have a nasty scar developing at the bottom half of my incision line and it is very clear that this was caused by the skin not being held together correctly. I am extremely distressed by this as it was avoidable. I will now need to incur additional cost to try and rectify cosmetically. I am now experiencing significant social anxiety and have barely left my house as the scar is in such a prominent place. I believe that more credence should have been given to the concern I raised two days after my surgery but was advised by Dr Patel that "no one needs a wound check on day 2" . The consequences of that decision have left me in a great deal of distress and with a poorer outcome than was necessary. Given the cost of the surgery I feel this was a significant failure of care.

Prompt appointment givern, on time plenty of time with the consultant ( given a body check). The consultant explained everything and the next process.

I recently had surgery and was looked after very well . The private patients team staff were courteous and helpful on every visit The care I received from Dr Varma was exceptional. He is an amazing and skilful surgeon and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. He was very kind and understanding and I felt fully confident in him throughout. He spent a lot of time listening to my concerns and reassuring me. The theatre nurses were friendly and professional and took good care of me.They gave me a lot of post op advice and information. Overall I was very impressed with my experience as a private patient at the Nottingham Treatment Centre.

I was only a day patient. From my arrival to departure I was well looked after and was aware of what was happening or going to happen at all times. I found nothing to cause me any anxiety or discomfort.

dr Sharma was always accessible, he freely gave outs his mobile number, and the nursing staff understood my anxiety and both reacted accordingly, but also positively helped me with coping mechanisms

I reported to Private Patient reception and was personally escorted to the appropriate place each time. I didn't feel rushed, could choose a treatment date. Even as an NHS patient I found the Dermatology department efficient and well run, if anything appointments were a few minutes early! and this seemed the general experience. Dr Patel listened, explained and did a very neat surgical job. Following out patient surgery I contacted the Private patient staff using the telephone number provided by Dr Patel and had swift replies. He said that he could arrange treatment on the NHS for a cream medication rather than surgery for further BCC removal, but on reflection he didn't say how this would be managed... through the GP or hospital & I am still waiting for this to happen and I will need to contact the GP for advice on how to proceed. Where privacy was compromised it was at Dermatology reception following my post surgery check up when I was enquiring about the NHS treatment that I was opting back into. The receptionist did her best but I had to do alot of explaining in a very public area, the screens around the desk meaning I had to speak quite loudly.

My whole experience with the treatment centre has been absolutely brilliant I cannot fault anything. My consultant was great he put my mind at ease on several occasions and was always available to speak to if required
